Where most people are when they call

It might be a loss you thought you had dealt with, a pattern you can see perfectly clearly and still cannot get out of or stress that built so gradually you never noticed where the line was.

You do not need a crisis to justify making an appointment. Most of the people I see have been managing for a very long time, and have arrived at the point where managing is no longer working.

That is a good reason to come. It is, in fact, the most common one.

It usually isn't just one thing.

Experience, care and practical support.

Who you will be sitting with

Sophie Witter

Sophie is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over 20 years of clinical experience supporting individuals through a wide range of mental health and life challenges. She provides person-centred therapy with a warm, compassionate, and practical approach, creating a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their concerns and work towards meaningful change.

Sophie's practice is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based interventions. She draws on a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs and goals.

She has a particular interest in trauma, grief and loss, relationships, self-esteem, identity, anxiety, and depression. Sophie also has extensive experience supporting clients with stress management and adjustment difficulties, including workplace challenges and health-related concerns.

Through practical strategies, emotional support, and collaborative problem-solving, Sophie helps clients navigate life's challenges and find a way forward. Enhancing day-to-day functioning, improving work–life balance, and promoting overall wellbeing are central to her therapeutic approach.
